No one remembers requisitioning it. Behind a hallway that isn't on any floor plan, past a vault door stenciled AK Wing — Top Secret Level, the building forgets a room exists.

A red light burns over equipment that should be dead. It transmits — on a cycle no one authorized, into a frequency no one owns, toward a receiver no one has ever found.

Three watches keep it running. None have met. None ask what's on the other end.

The last entry in the log isn't a question. It's a warning: something is answering back.
